Log Cabin

This project involved removing the existing building to make way for a new log cabin. A concrete base was cast and included insulation fitted and under floor heating.

The client's high specification included solid logs which were housed over each other and half lapped on the corners. Purpose made double glazed windows and doors were fitted using a loose tongue method to allow the movement of the logs.

The roof was fitted with roof spars, insulated between with plywood above fitted with breathable felt and slate battens to accept the cedar shingles fixed into position with stainless steel staples. A copper weathered finial completed the finished look. The roof was under drawn on the inside with plywood sheeting.

The client was very happy with the finished product.
